Dunboyne —County Meath

Dunboyne is an ancient borough. Dunboyne Castle, an 18th Century mansion replaced the old castle there as the seat of the Butlers. Hamwood, a palladian house, is surrounded by gardens dating from 1764. The village was burnt down in the 1798 rebellion.
