Glencar Waterfall, County Leitrim

Situated 11km west of Manorhamilton these impressive falls can be viewed from a lovely wooded walk. The waterfall served as inspiration for WB Yeats and is mentioned in his poem The Stolen Child. Picnic facilities are also provided.

Parkes Castle, County Leitrim

Enjoy wonderful golfing at the recently expanded Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club with beautiful views out over the Boyle River and Drumharlow Lake.

Sli Liatroma is a 48km walk through some beautiful countryside and a variety of old and new tracks. Other good routes are the Miners Way and Historical Trail, and Sliabh an Iarainn Hillwalking

Cavan & Leitrim Narrow Gauge Railway

This Victorian railway ran commercially from 1887 to 1959 and part of the line has now been restored with workshops, guided tours of engine sheds, and a railway shop. It’s every little boy’s dream.
