Bank hours
Banks are open from 9am-4pm Monday to Friday with late opening until 5pm on Thursdays. Kilkenny City is well served with countless ATM machines, most of which will accept Cirrus.

Getting around

Parking
A disc parking system is operational in Kilkenny City centre. Disks for on-street parking are available at numerous locations throughout the city, as well as at City Borough Council offices, at a cost of €1.20 (one disc) per hour. Failure to display a disc results in clamping and heavy fines.
Shopping
Shopping hours are generally 9am-6pm Monday to Saturday with late opening until 8pm on Thursday. Most shops are also now open on Sunday from 12pm-6pm.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere indoors in Kilkenny City, except in hotel rooms and private accommodation.
