Grand Opera House

International Rose Week

Get up close to one of the world’s most romantic flowers with the fantastic Rose Week. There’s a blooming display of over 45,000 roses at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park, which also contains the very pretty Japanese Garden.

Did you know?

The name Belfast originates from the Irish Béal Feirste, which means “mouth of the River Farset”. But this original river has long been superseded in Belfast by the River Lagan and has fallen into obscurity. Bridge Street in the city centre indicates where there was originally a bridge across the Farset.
