Description

Ballyroney Cottage is large, bright and spacious. Built 5 years ago, it combines modern facilities with rural charm. We are situated close to the Mourne Mountains in the beautiful County Down countryside. Nearby are the bustling towns of Banbridge, Castlewellan, Dromara & Rathfriland. Dromore & Newry are 30 minutes away. Newcastle, the coast, Tullymore Forest Park and the Mourne Mountains are 20 minutes.

There are some beautifully scenic walks on very quiet roads directly accessible from our house, so you can enjoy the benefits of fresh air and exercise without having to reach for your car keys!

If you fancy a more restful stay, you’re welcome to take a stroll in our 1 acre garden – you’ll probably get to meet some of our very tame hens! If you prefer, you can watch TV or have a quiet read in the lounge. On chilly evenings, relax in front of the cosy wood burning stove.

At Ballyroney Cottage, you will find ample parking, luxurious ensuite bedrooms, a hearty breakfast and friendly welcoming hosts, Vanessa & Russell Drew (Vanessa speaks fluent french).

If you’re going hiking or mountain biking, we can provide storage for bikes and washing facilities for mucky boots.

Accommodation & Rates:

We have 2 ensuite rooms with double or twin beds, digital flat screen TV, tea & coffee facilities, and WI-FI throughout the house.

We are keen gardeners and aim to be as self sufficient as possible, so we have named the rooms after what can be seen outside in the garden: The Beehive and The Orchard!

Our hearty country breakfasts include locally sourced bacon & sausages, eggs from our own free range hens, honey from our bees and home made jams, wheaten bread & yoghurt. In the winter, how about a steaming bowl of hot porridge with brown sugar & cream? Evening meals available on request.

We are happy to cater for coeliac and vegetarian diets – please mention when booking.

If you’re heading out for the day, we can provide packed lunches.

We also have our home produce available for sale so you can take a taste of country life home with you – an ideal gift for someone at home, or just a tasty reminder of your time at Ballyroney Cottage.

Single: £40

Twin or Double: £35 per person sharing (£70 per night)

Premises sleeps a total of 4 people

Children under 12 years old: £25
