Chavenage is a self-catering apartment located in the tower of an 18th-century castle in Castletownshend, West County Cork. The apartment has its own entrance up a stairway to the first floor. Off the hallway there is a well-equipped kitchen, shower room and the main room, which is a large bed/sitting room. It has an open fire and is centrally heated. The main room has lovely views over the sea to the south and the grounds to the east. The flat includes oil-fired central heating. Other amenities include radio with CD player and TV with DVD player. Outside there is private covered area with table and chairs, and to the front of the castle there is a large terraced area that overlooks the sea. While staying in Castletownshend, visitors will find many ways to pass the time. The village is home to a number of pubs, a restaurant, post office and shop. It also serves as an excellent touring base, as Skibbereen, Clonakilty, Bandon, Bantry, Cork City and Kinsale are within easy reach.
