Avlon House B&B has recently been awarded the A.A Highly Commended 4 star award for 2012. This "Highly Commended" award is limited to properties within the top 10% of their star rating for guest accommodation’ This is a comfortable, modern B&B set in County Carlow, just a few minutes walk from Carlow Town. The house features five elegantly furnished ensuite guestrooms, broadband internet access, two cosy lounges furnished with open fires, daily papers and a DVD library of some 700 titles. Breakfast at the house is served each morning from 7am to 10am and guests may also enjoy their morning paper and coffee on the patio for a spot of morning sun. Avlon House B&B is just a seven minute stroll north of Carlow Town with its trendy cafes and night time entertainment. The town is also nicely bisected by the Barrow River, making it a charming place for an evening stroll. Just outside of the town, guests will find the dramatic prehistoric site of the Brownshill Dolmen sitting stoically in pretty countryside. Those travelling a little further afield can journey to the resplendent natural beauty of Altamont Gardens and the impressive grandeur of Huntingstown Castle.
