Description
Sherkin Island Cork - Ireland SouthHorseshoe Bay House is a traditional farmhouse that was built in the 1930s. The property, which is found just off the coast of West County Cork on beautiful Sherkin Island, served as a family home for many years and now provides a quality, three-star self-catering accommodation for holidaymakers. The house sits overlooking the horseshoe bay with views out to the Atlantic Ocean. The ground floor consists of a cosy living room, dining room and day room/play room. There is also a very spacious and well-equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals to enjoy amongst friends and family. One of the bedrooms is found on the ground floor, while the other three are on the first floor. Other features of the home include TV, DVD player, Internet access, open fire place, night storage heating and convector heaters. Additionally, there is a lovely garden and bright sun room so guests can make the most of those long summer days. While staying on Sherkin Island, visitors can roam the ruins of a 15th-century Franciscan abbey and see the castle of the O’Driscoll clan. During the summer months, the island is a wonderful place to enjoy traditional music, art courses and the Sherkin Family Regatta. There are three sandy beaches that make the island a perfect place for swimming and shore walks.
