The Huntsmans Lodge is a large two-storey house built in 1954 by Pat McBride, a renowned huntsman. The home has been completely refurbished while retaining the character and style of its time period, and today it serves as a four-star self-catering accommodation for visitors to County Cavan. Set just outside Cootehill, the lodge boasts five ensuite bedrooms, each with toilet, shower and hand basin. One of the rooms is on the ground floor. There is also a large fully equipped kitchen, traditional dining room and comfortable sitting room with open fire, providing a cosy place to unwind at the end of a busy day. The Huntsmans Lodge stands on its own grounds and is surrounded by a large front lawn, mature orchard and countryside views. From the back door, guests can enjoy a private walk through an evergreen forest to a nearby lake. The beautiful drumlin countryside of County Cavan has numerous lakes and rivers for fishing, water sports, walking and relaxing. The nearby village of Maudabawn, meanwhile, provides social and community amenities.
