Crotty’s Pub and B&B, in the town of Kilrush in County Clare, has a tradition of warmth and hospitality that dates back to the early 19th Century. In 2009 Crottys was nominated as Failte Ireland’s Tourist Pub of the Year, proof that this tradition is still alive today. The pub is decorated with old mellowed woodwork, ornate tiled floors, pitch pine counters, original plate glass mirrors and walls filled with historical memorabilia. There is an extensive bar food menu, bands every other weekend and traditional Irish music sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from June to September. Crotty's guest bedrooms have been individually decorated in period style with fine fabrics and antique furniture. There is the choice of single, twin, double or queen size bedrooms overlooking the picturesque town centre of Kilrush. All bedrooms are ensuite with free Wi-Fi access, cable television, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and hair dryers. Crotty's Pub and B&B is situated in the centre of picturesque Kilrush with parking available just outside the front door. Kilrush is located at the mouth of the River Shannon overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Shannon Estuary is home to Ireland's only known resident population of bottlenosed dolphins. Taking a boat trip from Kilrush offers you a unique opportunity to observe these wonderful animals in their natural habitat. Kilrush Creek Marina welcomes yachts from all over the world. Deep sea angling and onshore fishing can be arranged from the marina. Boat trips to the ancient monastic site of Scattery Island are also available. For golfers there is the parkland golf in Kilrush or on the challenging links courses at Doonbeg, Lahinch or Ballybunion. There are pristine beaches within a short distance of Crotty’s Pub and pleasant woodland and coastal walks. Or why not take a surf lesson on Lahinch beach? The beautiful Vandeleur Walled Garden, the Cliffs of Moher and the famous West Clare Railway are also all within easy reach of Kilrush town. Crotty’s Pub is a great location from which to explore West Clare.
