Ideally situated on the centre of the Esplanade overlooking the seafront in Bray, County Wicklow, Ulysses Guesthouse is ideal for holiday or business being only 35 minutes from Dublin city centre via DART rail and minutes drive from the foot of the Wicklow Hills, 'The Garden of Ireland'. Ulysses Guesthouse is only five minutes walk from the DART Station and 10 minutes from Bray Main Street. Ulysses Guesthouse is situated on the Strand Road in Bray overlooking the beach. All rooms are ensuite with cable TV and tea making facilities. The house offers a personal service with a very high degree of cleanliness. Ulysses is a non-smoking house. WiFi and off-street parking is available for guests and any special dietary requirements can also be catered for. The Jones family have run Ulysses since 1966 and it is now in the hands of Colm and Deirdre Jones who took over from Bernard and Frances, on their retirement in 1995. Ulysses Guesthouse is named after the book by James Joyce. The previous owner, Mrs Delamata was a niece of James Joyce. For entertainment while at Ulysses there is the Mermaid Theatre, an indoor swimming pool, Bray Bowling along with the traditional seaside amusements and the Sealife Centre. There are many fine restaurants within walking distance from the house and even more pubs, many offering food as well. Ulysses Guesthouse is near several golf clubs including Druids Glen, Bray Golf Club, Woodbrook, Old Conna, Powerscourt and Charlesland. Bray also offers fishing, walking and cycling. Bray is close to a number of gardens and stately homes. Powerscourt in Enniskerry and Kilruddery on the outskirts of Bray. Other popular sights are Kilcoole better known as 'Glenroe' and Avoca for 'Ballykissangel'.
