The Drumming Circle & Bundoran Beats
Bundoran
Bundoran will thrum to the beat of world-class rhythms on Sunday 9th August as visitors participate in the Drumming circle and samba bands and African Drummers herald the Bundoran Bay Swim from Tullan Strand to the Boat Quay. A drum circle is what happens when any number of people get together to create rhythm. No previous experience is necessary and no perceived ability is required; the drum circle accommodates everyone. Using drums and percussion the participants together create a unique in-the-moment rhythm consisting of everyone's individual contribution. A facilitator will assist this process but ultimately the music is made by the participants. Open to all to join in the fun. Neil Dowling has been drumming for over twenty years. In that time he has appeared on television and radio including RTE, BBC, TV3 and MTV and has toured throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe and America. He has trained in drum circle facilitation with Arthur Hull (regarded as the founder of the world drum circle movement) and has studied West African djembe drumming with Moussa Sylla, Abou Jallow, Drissa Kone, Mansa Camio and Rainer Polak. He has led hundreds of workshops for schools, businesses, community groups and the general public in Ireland. Join the Drum Circle: No Previous experience necessary and no perceived ability is required; the drum circle accommodates everyone. Using drums and percussion you will create a unique in-the-moment rhythm consisting of everyone's individual contribution. Open to all to join in the fun. The Drum Circle will take place at the Market Square Shopping Centre, Main St. Entrance (opposite Grand Central Hotel). Registration from 1:30pm onwards and Drum Circle starting at 2:00pm.
