Cleggan —County Galway
Situated on the southern shores of sheltered Cleggan Bay, some 9 km from Clifden, the village of Cleggan is both the centre of the sea fishing industry in north Connemara and the ferry port for Inishbofin Island 9 km out in the Atlantic. There is an amazing collection of prehistoric monuments including tombs, standing stones and pre-bog field walks, all 2 km to the east.
