Special Olympics in University of Limerick

Limerick University will be the hub for the 1,900 Special Olympics athletes who will arrive in Limerick to participate in the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games. Competitions will be held in different venues throughout Limerick city and county. The Games will take place over four days from Wednesday, June 9th to Sunday June 13th. In what will be one of the largest and most prestigious sporting events to take place in Ireland in 2010. The 1,900 Special Olympics athletes will be accompanied by 650 coaches and official delegates as well as a contingent of over 4,000 family members. The Games will be supported by a team of 3,500 volunteers who will be recruited from Limerick city, county and beyond in the lead up to the games.
