The Docklands Christmas festival 2012 will run from the 7th until the 23rd of December in the IFSC , from 12 noon to 8pm daily, Saturday and Sundays will open at 10:00am. So bring all the Family to the Dublin Docklands Christmas Festival to experience a little bit of magic and Christmas cheer. Boasting music, food and even carousels, this event illustrates precisely why Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. With over 80 traders partaking in the event you are sure to find something to everyone's taste. Be it hot chocolate with marshmallows for the children, roasted Chestnuts for Granddad or Mulled wine for Mum, this waterside haven is sure to a treat for all. You can stroll amongst the 80 craft and gift traders who are more than willing to explain in detail the background to their products. Along the way you can stop off to get a bite to eat in one of our many gourmet food stands. Official Switch-on by Santa of Christmas Lights, 4.00-6.00pm Friday 7th December. Santa will be arriving on Saturday 8th December and will meet all the boys and girls every Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 – 7.00pm absolutely for free! To celebrate the true giving spirit of Christmas Santa will be asking boys and girls to bring a gift and leave it at Santa’s Giving Tree for distribution to a leading children’s charity. Santa’s Grotto is open 12.00pm-7.00pm on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December, and on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd December, before Santa returns home to the North Pole to prepare for Christmas Eve.
