The Lovely Girls at The Steeple Sessions

Dublin City

06 Juli 2013

The Lovely Girls are Caoimhe Hogarty (vocals, percussion, mandolin), Pauline Burke (vocals, bodhran, banjo) and Sonja Krzyzanowski (vocals, guitar, low whistle). The girls met on the Dublin trad scene and were drawn together by their love of harmony singing across a wide variety of genres. Each a seasoned performer in her own right, the girls joined forces to produce a distinctive sound that can only be described as ... lovely. The Lovely Girls are driven by their enjoyment of arranging and performing songs in three part harmony. The girls draw their material from a wide array of musical styles, including traditional Irish, bluegrass, old time, blues, jazz, rock, reggae and English folk. They perform regularly around Dublin. The girls are joined by lovely special guest Tricia Hutton on fiddle. Tricia grew up steeped in the Irish music tradition, but in addition to her beautiful traditional playing she also lends an edge to a variety of other styles performed by the band.
