Climb 4 Concern - Carrauntoohil
Beaufort
06 Juli 2013
Concern invites you to a wonderful fresh-air experience while helping to raise funds for alleviating poverty and suffering in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world. A group of Concern supporters is planning a unique experience: climbing the highest mountain in each of the four provinces, on four Saturdays between March and July. A feature of the experience is that guides will be available, to cater for all levels of fitness. This is a tremendous opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful landscape in Ireland, while doing something practical to help people in desperate need. The final climb will be Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain at 1,038m. There are two other peaks in this range higher than 1,000m--Beenkeragh (1,010 m) and Caher (1,001 m). The peak of Carrauntoohil is topped by a large metal cross 5 metres (16ft) tall. Departing Dublin on the Friday and climbing on the Saturday, participants will stay 2 nights in Killarney with the cost of 2 B&B+1 Dinner for €109 each. Registration is €25, and you need to raise a minimum sponsorship of €100. Transport is provided from Dublin and Mullingar to each event. Details and registration are available online.
