Galway Motor Club in association with Safety Direct will host the opening round of the 2013 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, which will see a number of the top Irish and possibly some international rally drivers compete on the stages in Galway next February. Television coverage of the rally is broadcast annually on a number of channels. The event, which is based in The Clayton Hotel, will include a number of special rally stages in Co. Galway, details of which will be available during the weeks leading to February 2013. The entry list in previous years has included a number of the top drivers in Ireland as well as competitors from Sweden, Finland and Saudi Arabia among others. Previous winners have included Austin MacHale, Tapio Laukkanen and Eugene Donnelly. A weekend of top class motorsport and a warm welcome to Galway await in February.
