Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival

Malin

10 Mai 2013 - 19 Mai 2013

The 7th Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival returns to the north west after a one year break. Guth Gafa, The Magnificent Seventh, will take place in two key locations in 2013. The hub of the festival and the main screening venues will be in Malin Village on Inishowen Peninsula and a series of satellite screenings and film events will be held in Derry, in partnership with Derry-Londonderry City of Culture and The Irish Film Board. Guth Gafa has a 6 year track record in attracting the newest and very best award winning international and Irish documentary films and their filmmakers to the north west. Primarily exploring themes of human rights, social issues and the environment, the documentaries screened at Guth Gafa arouse great debate and discussion. Guth Gafa's trademark of inviting every film director from wherever in the world to the north west to present their films and to discuss them with the audiences makes the festival a unique experience for film lovers. There are few film festivals in Europe quite like Guth Gafa. For a week every year, an entire village on the edge of Europe is transformed into an intimate but intense hotbed of documentary film. In 2013, this will be extended to include screenings and film events in Derry. As always, Guth Gafa will also cater for young audiences, with screenings and fun workshops.
