In Kildare in der Mitte von Irland gibt es bekanntlich einige der besten Pferderennbahnen und Golfplätze der Welt, aber die ländliche Idylle hält auch mancherlei Unvermutetes für Sie bereit! 

Zwar gilt Kildare international als die Pferde-Region Irlands, aber es gibt noch mehr als Pferde, auch wenn sie natürlich die Heimat des National Stud, der Rennbahn von Punchestown und der Curragh-Ebene ist. Man kann zum Beispiel wunderbar angeln und Golf spielen, gar nicht zu reden von all den herrlich gelegenen und aufwendig ausgestatteten Landhotels.

Mit seinem vorwiegend ländlichen Charakter ist Kildare ein sehr beschauliches, eher zurückhaltendes County. Friedliche Wiesen, saftige Torfmoore, neblige Wälder und murmelnde Wasserläufe zeichnen es aus. Und in dieses sanfte ländliche Idyll sind die schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten eingebettet, wie etwa der japanische Garten im Nationalgestüt (National Stud), die Arkadischen Gärten von Larchill und das stattliche Russborough-Haus.

Und dabei sind Sie nur 40 km von  Dublin entfernt!
