The award-winning Coach House Cottages are located on a farm just 6km from Lough Derg and the River Shannon. They are within walking distance of the historic and picturesque village of Lorrha, County Tipperary. The coach house and stables (now listed heritage buildings) have been converted into five comfortable holiday homes suitable for families and couples. Knox is a well-equipped cottage. It has an open-plan living/dining area and fitted kitchen that overlooks open farmland. Knox has one bedroom with a double bed and space for a folding bed or cot. There is a shower room with WC, shower and wash basin. On the property guests can also make use of the sauna, laundry room, tourist information area and DVD library. The owner’s boat and bicycles are available free, subject to availability. There are many pursuits in the countryside, such as bird watching, photography, cycling and walking. Portumna Forest Park, which is a 10-minute drive away, has 50km of walking and cycling trails. Excellent looped trails are also available in the Slieve Bloom Mountains, which are within easy reach. Horse riding and pony trekking can be enjoyed nearby and for golfers there are several superb courses in the area. Lough Derg offers opportunities for a wide variety of water sports, and fishing (both lake and river) is close by. Detailed maps on walking trails in the region can be supplied.
