  • Test of Interactive English (TIE)

    All students entering English language courses in Ireland can take the Test of Interactive English. This is an International EFL exam developed in Ireland and recognised by the Irish Department of Education and Science. TIE is designed for students over 18 and the grading system directly follows the Council of Europe Scale of Language Proficiency. For more information, log onto the TIE website.

  • Junior Test of Interactive English

    This is an ideal test for younger students who can be assessed after just one or two week courses, as well as after longer courses. The test examines their level of written and spoken English according to the Council of Europe Framework of Language Proficiency. The test is recognised by the Irish Department of Education and Science and by the Italian Ministry for Education for the purpose of Credito Formativo.   • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

    There are four different components of the TOEFL Examination - listening, structure, reading and writing. Scores for the exam are required to enter Universities in Ireland. A TOEFL score is valid for two years and then it is deleted from the official database.

  • Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

    This examination is used to measure the abilities of non-native English speakers' use of language in everyday work activities. The TOEIC test is used as a certification tool in more than 5,000 companies worldwide and goes a long way to enhancing your employment profile.

  • Trinity College London

    This examination is used to test candidates' ability to listen and speak. There are 12 grades available and the number of tasks the candidate is asked to perform depends on the level at which you enter the examination.

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

    This test measures a student's ability co communicate in English across all four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking - and is targeted towards people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.

  • Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)

    A TEFL certificate will qualify you to teach English as a foreign language, which in turn can open up a range of employment opportunities, including volunteer work.

  • Cambridge Examinations

    The University of Cambridge has devised a range of certificates for learners of English. These are linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as published by the Council of Europe. Exams include: KET (Key English Test); PET (Preliminary English Test); FCE (First Certificate in English); CAE (Certificate in Advanced English); and CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English). It also includes examinations for Business, including BEC (Business English Certificate).
