Portadown —County Armagh

Portadown is known as 'The Hub of the North' because of its central position in Northern Ireland and its good transport links to other towns and cities. Although the town can trace its origins to at least the 17th century, it wasn't until the Victorian era, and the arrival of the railway, that it became a major town.
