Kilcullen —County Kildare
Kilcullen, located on the River Liffey, is a charming town with a picnic area and walks by the river. The official name for the town is Kilcullen Bridge, to distinguish it from 'Old Kilcullen', which was a hill settlement about 2 miles outside the town. In the centre of Kilcullen, a park has been re-developed and is available for local and visitor use. At Old Kilcullen, south of the town, is a truncated round tower and three decorated cross shafts, which mark the site of an early monastery.
