The largest village in Co Monaghan, Emyvale, is a very old habitation, as a Bronze Age tomb was unearthed there in 1959.
There are several lakes around the village and Emy Lough is an important game fishery (Licenses available locally).
There are some lovely walking tours in and around the village which highlight local beauty spots and historical sites.
