Sebbene sferzata da un vivace vento di modernità, la contea di Kilkenny è saldamente ancorata ai suoi trascorsi medievali e tramanda ostinatamente di generazione in generazione un’innata creatività. Un luogo magico, insomma, sospeso tra passato e futuro. 

Basta guardare Kilkenny città, destinazione cosmopolita affollata di pub, ristoranti e locali alla moda, su cui da 800 anni ormai veglia il castello normanno. 

Moderna e antica allo stesso tempo, Kilkenny è anche una città allegra. Che conosce l’arte di saper ridere e che si allena tenacemente tutti gli anni con il celebre Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, esilarante festival di comicità con attori provenienti dal mondo intero 

E se dopo le sghignazzate e il cameratismo cerchi solo un po’ di quiete e solitudine, c’è un’intera contea di prati e foreste solcati dal placido fiume Nore che ti aspetta.
