La présence du canal Shannon-Erne confère au comté de Leitrim un cachet unique.  

Il y a plein de choses à faire dans ce joli comté du  nord-ouest de l’Irlande. Visiter des villes animées situées en bord de rivière comme Carrick sur Shannon, grand lieu de la navigation en Irlande, flâner dans les villages de pêcheurs de Dromod près des Loughs Bofin et Boderg ou se détendre dans un pub au bord d’un canal. À moins d’explorer les sites historiques ou de s’adonner à la pêche dans certains des meilleurs coins du pays.
