This is the original farmstead where Father Murphy the 1798 Insurgent Leader, lived for many years. Fr Murphy is the central focus of this tourist attraction. It features his cottage the original gable wall of the restored cottage is the original wall of his house. It is a magnificent example of an 18 Century farm buildings give an insight into farming in County Wexford in the 1700s. The Pig Sty has some beautiful stonework. The Garden of Remembrance is a lovely tranquil garden where on can sit or have a short walk and remember the 30,000 people who died in 1798. This rebellion was the bloodiest and cruellest of all Irish wars. Some stones are inscribed to help us remember those who died and it also has some beautiful raised herringbone ditch.
