Dublin’s biggest and best festival of Irish Music and Culture. The Temple Bar TradFest is back for its 8th year. In 2013 the festival will be bigger than ever with 6 days and 6 nights of trad, music, dance and craic. The festival features over 200 free events, an outdoor stages, family programme, children’s club, street performers, pipe bands, music trail and much more. Experience Irish and International music talent in some of Dublin’s most iconic venues like Christ Church Cathedral, St Patrick's Cathedral and the glorious rotunda of City Hall. Enjoy intimate performances for as little as €10.00 with lunchtime and evening concerts on offer. Sharon Shanon, Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, Maura O'Connell, and T with the Maggies are just some of the stellar lineup you can expect to enjoy. The legendary Sharon Shannon will be celebrating her 21st Anniversary with two very special performances in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral on the 25th and 26th January. Newly added to our list of festival venues, the iconic Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is over 800 years old and is the largest cathedral in the country! More events announced: Remembering Barney McKenna will be an evening concert that will celerbrate the unique contribution made by Barney to Irish Traditional Music with a unique gathering of acclaimed national and internationally renowened artists accross the world. Join the West Ocean String Quartet with special guests Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill Stephen Rea in the historic surrounds of St Werburgs Church. Enjoy music from Neil Martin’s song cycle Oileán na Marbh, and music from the quartet’s new album, An Indigo Sky.
