Cork Small Boats Festival
Aghada
20 September 2013 - 27 September 2013
The Cork Small Boats Festival is the premier 'small boats' angling competition in the country. It's a 'bring your own boat' angling competition. The majority of the competitors are UK based with a healthy complement of local teams thrown into the mix. The winners are the team that manage to capture the most species to size over four days of competitive angling. Usually the combined fleet manages to catch around forty five species! The fishing takes place from the launch site in Aghada in the waters of Cork Harbour and beyond. This sheltered location usually ensures that the fleet gets a full programme of fishing for the week. Crews stay in the Trabolgan Holiday Centre, a superb and secure location for travelling boats and crews. The event is a great social occasion as well as being a fast-paced competition. The event is open to trailerable boats up to 22 feet and teams are between two and four anglers. So whether you are a seasoned campaigner or a novice in boat angling terms there's room for you in Cork to have a superb week of fishing in a perfect environment. Most of the crews return year after year such is the quality of the fishing and the quality of the craic!
