The Annual Cork Craft Month is the brainchild of Cork Craft and Design, an umbrella group for professional craft makers across the creative spectrum in Cork City and County. Their goal is to make Cork a recognised hub for making, seeing, collecting, buying and learning about contemporary craft and applied art. It includes a schedule of big events and a myriad of locally organised craft happenings where collectors and creators alike can experience Cork Craft at work. This festival of craft and design is county-wide so keep an eye out for exhibitions, workshops, craft fairs, pop up shops and open studios in all areas to whet the craft appetite. Indulge in delicious contemporary ceramics, jewellery and textile-work, fabulous furniture, wood-works and felt masterpieces and gorgeous glass pieces. Cork Craft Month brings together the very best of Cork's gifted artisans. It's the perfect chance to treat yourself to a 'Made in Cork' memento or to roll up your sleeves and try some 'hands on' crafting at workshops and open studios.
