The Clonakilty International Guitar Festival is back with another weekend showcasing the greatest exponents of the world's most versatile musical instrument. Since 2006 virtuosos, noodlers, innovators and aficionados have made the pilgrimage to this beautiful corner of Ireland's south west coast to share, learn and celebrate music in its many forms. As always, the festival gives an opportunity to aspiring guitarists to learn from the best in the business through a series of workshops and public talks, while the outreach project puts some star performers into the local schools to demonstrate and teach. As well as the headline concerts, the town will ring out through the extensive music trail, consisting of free performances in pubs, cafes, butcher shops, Youth Café, Parish Hall, Church and even the local library! Confirmed artists include Rodney Branigan, Windings, Tiny Ruins, The West Cork Ukulele Orchestra, Steve Cooney, House of Cosy Cushions, Richard Gilewitz, Bill Shanley, John Blek & The Rats, Cian Nugent and Steve Housden.
