Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival
Cape Clear Island
31 August 2012 - 02 September 2012
Cape Clear Storytelling Festival is now in its 18th year and each year gains remarkable success in the world of storytelling. Scheduled in September every year when island life quietens down after the hectic summer months of the Irish colleges and summer activity courses, the festival has now become a main calendar event on the island. Utilising the natural resources of Cape Clear and the backdrop of the island's stunning scenery, all venues are carefully chosen on different parts of the island in hostels, college halls and the island's library. The very popular Heritage Walk is hosted by a local biologist and historian taking the well-worn path from the now famous pre-Christian Cape Clear stone on North Harbour through to the island's ancient cemetery and up to the Napoleonic tower and old lighthouse steeped in history and wildlife.
