Rostrevor Cloughmore Stone
Local folklore highlights that the legendary Irish Giant ‘Finn McCool’, got into a fight with his archrival Ruscaire and they threw boulders at each other...and so the Cloughmore Stone appeared.
Set amidst stunning views of the surrounding forest, the Cloughmore car park in Rostrevor lies 230m above sea level and is ideal for wetting your appetite for the walks ahead. There are three waymarked trails, which vary in length from 2km to 7km, and take the visitor to various areas within the forest to enjoy the many magnificent views and beauty of the woodlands.
