The club has been at its present parkland site, overlooking Belfast Lough since 1925, having moved a couple of times in its long history. It’s one of only a handful of clubs which can boast the title ‘Royal’ – the Prince of Wales first visited in 1885 and became their first patron, and Prince Andrew is the current patron. It feels like a very special place to play. The course, by the great HC Colt, is not especially long but it requires concentration and consistency.
