Our privacy policyThere are few more poignant places in Ireland than Cobh Harbour, County Cork, where hundreds of thousands of Irish left the land, first in convict ships bound for Australia, and then in the mid-19th century in coffin ships fleeing the Famine. It’s also where the Titanic made its last port of call, and, it’s said, where Walter Raleigh unloaded the first tobacco ever to arrive in Europe.
