“IRISH FILMS” CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES AND CONDITIONS

 

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  VOID OUTSIDE CANADA AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

2. Eligibility: Contest open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.  Employees of Tourism Ireland and Toronto Irish Film Festival and any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, licensees and advertising and promotion agencies (collectively “Contest Entities”) and those living in the household of same are ineligible.  Contest subject to all applicable provincial/territorial and local laws and regulations.  Void outside Canada and where prohibited by law. If you are eligible to win this prize you must complete a skill-testing question, to be determined by the Sponsor/Administrator, before being granted the prize package and must sign a waiver in agreement that he/she has read and agrees to the Terms & Conditions of this contest.

3. Sponsor/Administrator: The Sponsor and Administrator of the Contest is Tourism Ireland (“Sponsor/Administrator”), 2 Bloor Street West, Suite 3403, Toronto, ON, M4W 3E4, Canada.

4. How to Enter: Contest starts March 9, 2012, at 12:00:01 a.m. EST and ends March 23, 2012, at 11:59:59 p.m. EST ("Promotional Period").  During the Promotional Period people visitors can enter the online entry form (www.discoverireland.como/ca-en/forms/irishfilms) where they can enter the contest by completing the online form and including the following information: name, address, city, province, postal code, telephone number, email address and permission for Tourism Ireland to contact them regarding this prize. All entries received after the promotional period ends will be void. Limit one (1) entry per person/e-mail address during the Promotional Period.  If it is discovered that you attempted to (i) enter more than once per person/e-mail address; or (ii) use more than one (1) e-mail address to enter the Contest; then you will be disqualified from the Contest and all of your entries will be void.  Use of any automated system to enter is prohibited and will automatically result in disqualification.

5. Contest Drawing:  A random drawing will be held the week of March 26, 2012, in Toronto, Ontario, and the selected entrant will be identified from among all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period to determine one (1) Prize winner by the Contest Sponsor/Administrator, whose decisions on all matters pertaining to the Contest are final and binding without right of appeal.  The selected entrant will be notified by e-mail within 10 days of the contest closing. The winner has 10 business days to respond or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to someone else. If the prize is declined, the prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or in the event of noncompliance with these Official Rules and Conditions, the prize will be forfeited and may, at the sole discretion of Sponsor/Administrator, be awarded to an alternate winner. To be declared a winner the selected entrant must correctly answer a skill-testing question to be determined by the Contest Sponsor and sign a release that he/she has read and agrees to the Terms & Conditions of this contest.

6. Prize, Odds: One (1)Prize: The prize has an estimated value of $100 (Canadian dollars) and consists of an Irish Film prize package including Irish DVD films and other related items. Prize is non-refundable and not redeemable for cash or credit.  If for any reason any portion of the Prize does not occur, such portion will be forfeited with no compensation being paid in exchange thereof. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotional Period. 

7. General Prize Restrictions: No cash redemption of the prize.  No transfer of the prize.  Prize may not be substituted, except by Sponsor/Administrator for a prize or a prize component of equal or greater value, in its sole discretion.  Prize may be different from that pictured in advertising. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor/Administrator and its designees to use winner’s name and likeness for advertising, promotional and other purposes in any and all media now and hereafter known without additional notice or compensation unless prohibited by law.  Winner acknowledges that neither the Contest Entities nor their directors, employees, or agents, have made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose.  Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize (if any) are subject to the respective manufacturers’ terms thereof, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee. By participating in this promotion, all entrants agree to these official rules, and understand that the prize will be forfeited to the runner-up if the winner is not able to travel over specified dates for whatever reason or if not eligible for this competition.

8. Release: Tourism Ireland and its sponsors/partners are not responsible for (a.) Lost, late, delayed, misdirected, unintelligible or incomplete electronic mail; (b.) Telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; (c.) Errors in transmission, any condition caused by events beyond the control of Tourism Ireland that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted; (d.) Tourism Ireland will not be held responsible for entries not received in the event of participants not successfully completing the entering mechanism supplied.

9. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually and without resort to any form of class action. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, excluding attorneys’ fees. Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for out-of-pocket expenses.  Where permitted by law, this Contest is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflicts of law principles and all entrants hereby submit to the jurisdiction and venue of Province of Ontario for the resolution of all claims and disputes.

10. Privacy: By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor/Administrator, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the contest and in accordance with Sponsor/Administrator’s Privacy Policy http://www.discoverireland.com/ca-en/privacy/, unless the entrant otherwise agrees.

11. Permission: By entering this promotion, you are granting Tourism Ireland with the permission to communicate with you for the duration of this promotion. By selecting any or all of the opt-in options on the contest entry form this confirms your permission to receive relevant marketing communication from Tourism Ireland and/or its partners after the contest closing.

12. Security: This promotion takes every precaution to protect users' information. When users submit electronic information, their information is protected online by firewall software. Offline, all of our users' information is restricted to our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.
