Titanic Belfast Festival 2012

2012 marks 100 years since the world's most famous ship, the RMS Titanic, rolled off the slipways in Belfast. The Titanic was built in the Harland and Wolff Shipyard 1912 and took 2 years and a massive 12,000 men to construct! To mark the occasion the city of Belfast is planning a spectacular programme of events and they want you to join them!

Among the celebrations will be the opening of the brand new Titanic Visitor Centre an architectural icon that will play home to all things Titanic. With 6 floors in total the building is bursting with exhibitions that offer a look back to Belfast in the 1900's, blueprints, drawings and artifacts from the ship, unseen footage of the ship where she currently resides on the ocean floor and much much more. There is even an option to eat the last meal served on the iconic ship on the night of it's sinking!

But that's not all Belfast has to offer! Why not visit the Cathedral Quarter or the 50th Belfast festival at the historic Queen's University? If your looking for a culinary experience, follow the food trails and eat in some of Ireland's finest restaurants.

The Giant’s Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Bridge

Antrim is home to one of the most scenic beauties in Ireland, so make sure you bring your camera when you visit the county’s UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Londonderry – UK City of Culture 2013

Londonderry is gearing for exciting times ahead as the 2013 UK City of Culture. 2012 will mark the beginning of the journey, as the beautiful city invites the world to come and see what it has to offer! There’s a packed schedule, with events such as the Cultural Olympiad, the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention and Culture Night to name just a few! Londonderry is a city full of culture and heritage, with wonderful buildings such as St. Columb’s Cathedral and the historic City Walls. It is a city steeped in history and tradition, with plenty of museums to explore too! Why not come and visit and see for yourself why Londonderry is the worthy 2013 UK City of Culture.

Golfing Heaven!

We were delighted when our Northern Ireland golfers Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy won back to back US Open titles. And then, before the boys had a chance to add their silverware to the mantle, Darren Clarke brings home the trophy at the British Open! We are very proud the golf courses these Northern Ireland hot shots like to play when they come home.

Northern Ireland hosted the British Open at Portstewart Links in 1951, and the people are willing the organisers to host the event here again sometime in the future! Why not come and play a round to see for yourself why Northern Ireland breeds such wonderful golfers!

Festival Fever

Northern Ireland has always been a hot location for concerts and musical events, but temperatures are set to soar in 2012 as festival fever sets in! The exciting Land of Giant's Carnival injects some extra fun into Northern Ireland this June celebrating our giant icons like the mythical giant and creator of the Causeway, Finn McCool; and Cave Hill – the inspiration behind Jonathon Swift’s novel Gulliver's Travels.
