This fascinating route is not for the faint of heart nor the ill-prepared, with good footwear, gaiters and waterproof trousers an essential ingredient to your pre-walk packing. The Antrim Hills, although blessed with heather-laden ground and tussocky grasses, bring you off-road through fields where your only spectators are lazily grazing sheep and cows. Trekking around the Antrim Hills Way is by permission from landowners who, for obvious reasons, do not allow dogs to join you on your journey. Kick off your walk at Glenarm Village, and finish up at Slemish.
