The festival is based around a number of free recitals (Mon-Wed) and paid admission concerts (Thurs-Sat) in the village's beautiful Teach Ceoil (House of Music). It is a wonderfully intimate setting with capacity for 130 people. Visitors get the opportunity to hear the country's top traditional musicians as if they were in their own living room. The festival also boasts an impressive week-long session trail, featuring over 100 of the best musicians from County Clare and further afield (Ireland, Britain and the US). All these sessions are free admission and open to visiting musicians to join in and mix with the best in the business. A feature of the festival is the Saturday workshops, where many of the visiting musicians impart their knowledge to young and old improving musicians. Corofin Traditional Festival is known far and wide for the intimacy of its recitals and concerts, the welcome it affords visitors, the wonderful session trail and the general good-natured atmosphere. It's a place where visitors make life-long friends with local people, and return year after year as a result.
