Andy Irvine linked Sixmilebridge with folk muisc in his song 'West Coast of Clare' in the early eighties. Sixmilebridge folk club has resurrected the theme of the song and have successfully celebrated that theme at their annual 'Winter Music Weekend' for the last six years. Every year over 24 gigs/sessions and concerts are organise in seven different venues. The weekend has become a musical celebration encompassing all music genres from folk, blues, bluegrass, traditional and this year includes set-dancing with Glenside Ceili Band.
