The new US Open champion, Rory McIlroy, has been marked out as a potential champion since a young age. When he was a youngster, one of his fellow club members in Holywood, Co Down, placed a £50 bet on him winning a major title before his 25th birthday. That lucky man won £25,000, with 2 years to spare!
